This is our first-ever Louisiana tour. We've been to a number of museums around the country and at one time toured as many as 50 cities in two months on book promotions (we've pooped out on that!).

We don't organize the tours ourselves. This particular one was instigated and planned by the New Orleans Museum of Art, which approached us with the concept. Our other museum visits (such as Memphis, Chicago, Pensacola, Nantucket, and a number of universities) all happened at their request and planning. We would of course love to visit Portland. And if we hear from that museum, we would be most amenable to the idea-

Thank you for your email as always. That's some story about McCormick. I look forward to sharing with George when he arrives in Carmel tomorrow-
WendyWendy Rodrigue Magnushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08289447655110009690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8079877794128349006.post-52592039525327444452011-06-06T13:44:43.532-05:002011-06-06T13:44:43.532-05:00Wendy, Have you and George considered doing the ...Wendy, Have you and George considered doing the tours outside of Louisiana? I know the Portland Art Museum ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portland_Art_Museum ) would love to host George's works and lecture. BTW, Alexandria (Elmer) is the host town of our family reunions. The belated Howard Lee McCormick who died about 13 yrs ago while giving a speech on the Louisiana senate floor. You may remember hearing about that story, that was my mother's brother. He was one of the well known and respected citizen of Alexandria. I remember all too well spending summers there at 'Uncle Bubba's' (Howard Lee MCormick) with my cousins. It was the first time I came across the spanish moss covered oaks, Sassafras trees. and swimming in the galor fested waters, of the bayou and lake valentine all before it was developed into a recreational area.
-Grandmother's ShawlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
